Team Malaysia emerged 2-1 victorious against the rookie amateurs of MyTeam last night at Stadium Bukit Jalil in the highly anticipated match of Team Malaysia vs MyTeam. But it was no stroll in the park for the national squad, fielded mostly by players from the Under-20 team. MyTeam midfielder, T. Arunkumar, scored a sudden goal in the first 20 minute of the game. But in a match tainted with too much rough play, both teams got red carded and played with ten men.

In the second half, Team Malaysia failed to penetrate the MyTeam defense and relied on two free kicks to clinch victory. MyTeam had a slice of success too when goal scorer, T. Arunkumar was named Man of the Match and awarded a Naza motorcycle for his efforts.

It was a satisfying outcome for all football fans, including the 72 000 strong MyTeam supporters who filled the stadium to full capacity and painted the seats blue, the colour of the MyTeam jersey.

Through the match, a few things were clear. MyTeam started with a disconnected team and weak passing but by the second half had made it up with their well-known blistering speed and fighting spirit. The national squad on the other hand showed polished skills, tight teamwork and killer kicks in their young strikers too.
