The problems and issues Malaysian football
is facing:
Insufficient avenue of talent discovery
Decline in interest in the local football
league and the national football team
Lack of excitement for the local football
scene
Drop in stadium attendances
No structured sources of funding
Malaysia’s presence at the international
level is fast diminishing
MyTeam Objectives:
To creates excitement in and towards
the local football
To gives Malaysians an entertaining
local football show that can compete with the
popularity of the English Premier League
To promotes healthy living amongst
youth
To discover new football talent
To provides a dream opportunity for
many Malaysians to play the national team
To generate sources of funding for
local football (e.g. attracting sponsorship
for the football programme, the players and
the sport itself)
To help profile Malaysia football
globally and regionally with innovative ideas
such as MyTeam
Show Concept:
To address the prevalent issues, Maya
Team Sdn. Bhd. have formulated a reality TV
series based on football. The show will be entitled:
MyTeam
MyTeam will feature trials held in
each state which will be open to all Malaysians
for selection to MyTeam.
The trials will be featured as the
first few episodes of MyTeam where the focus
will be on unearthing hidden football talent
in Malaysia.
The final squad selected by our expert
panel of coaches will then be trained and this
will be the focus of the second part of the
series.
The final episode of MyTeam will be
the final squad playing the Malaysian national
team at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
The challenge trophy will be presented
by The Prime Minister of Malaysia Y.A.B Dato
Seri Abdullah Badawi
MyTeam will adopt the “Contender”
style of elimination, which will ensure the
selection of the best amateur players for the
final squad.
A public SMS feature as seen in other
talent programs such as “Akademi Fantasia”
would also be featured in the program but not
for squad selection which is determined by our
panel of coaches.
There will also be an interactive
website featuring a voting system database and
a fantasy football alternative.
The series will be handled by Maya
Team Sdn. Bhd. in partnership with a major television
network and all aspects of work including selection,
merchandising, marketing, advertising and promotions,
media relations will be conducted in a professional
