Telekom
Malaysia launches the ambitious football
reality TV show, MyTeam
Planet Hollywood was packed for the launch
of the highly anticipated football talent
reality show that looks set to get Malaysia
buzzing.
|
Filled with VVIP’s,
press, footballers and even Ska musicians, the
Telekom Malaysia sponsored programme, MyTeam,
soon to be shown on TV3, is drawing in all types,
all enthused by its simple but dramatic premise.
From February onwards, the
MyTeam
crew will be roaming nationwide looking for
fresh and exciting non-pro footballers. They
will put them through trials and tough eliminations
all on the road to ultimately taking on the
Malaysian national team at Bukit Jalil come
May 2006!
You
will watch as ordinary Malaysians, all
with a passion for football will be able
to realize their sporting dreams and get
the chance to move into the big league.
They have to be fit, older than 17 years
of age and fast enough to run 100 metres
in less than 12 seconds. Plus, if you
and your teammates beat Malaysia and impress
the coaches and FAM, a place on the national
squad could be yours. |

The brainchild of good friends,
Khairy Jamaluddin and musician, Jason Lo, MyTeam
aims to encourage those who have the talent
but not had the opportunity to play professionally
to take that step into the limelight. They also
want to promote the love of the game to incorporate
not only the English Premier League but also
our own local football scene.
With TM behind the helm,
lending its weight in support, the search for
the ultimate MyTeam
will be extensive and reap rewards for those
taking part. Not only will those who make it
get to play against the national team but they
will be coached by non-other than Shebby Singh!
The popular ESPN commentator and ex-Malaysian
football player is taking time from his busy
schedule to get back down to the nitty-gritty
of professional football training. Helped by
ex-European footballer, Bojan Hodak, the players
of MyTeam
will certainly be represented.
Rumours are already flying that part of the
training camp before the final match could take
place somewhere very special in the football
world!
Alongside the selections,
there will also be the TM MyTeam
Carnival. Each location will have events and
performances by local artistes bringing a festival
like fever to the MyTeam
event.
So, if you think you
have what it takes and are determined and ready
to give football your all, head for the first
venue in JB on February 18th, 2006. Now isn’t
this a great way to start the year!
